Students who complete 30-60 hours of service with our organization are eligible to apply for a scholarship. Volunteers can get their hours signed by an adult. To qualify for a scholarship you should get media coverage to bring in customers. Download the flyer below and submit it with your scholarship application. Volunteers needed to sort, size, organize dresses and accessories on both shopping days and drop-off day. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING: Catherine’s Closet is one of the most unique, magnificent, and helpful organizations out there. To be a volunteer for Catherine’s Closet is so much more than just documenting hours on paper or earning money for college. Catherine, the young lady who the organization is named after, was tragically taken away from this world. She had a dream to help everyone she could, and to make her community a peaceful, unified, harmonious place. Anyone involved with the program should honor this wish of hers and truly model their work with the organization after Catherine’s lifestyle. When considering working with Catherine’s Closet, you should understand as a volunteer that you are collecting dresses, hanging up flyers, spreading the word around your town, and helping on the distribution days to touch lives. Yes, you can receive money for your hard work, but that is not what the message of the program is. WE are here to show women how to be strong, independent and loving at the same time that we are helping them. Please, please, PLEASE know that you can make so many beautiful, happy, and divine memories as you continue on your journey with Catherine’s Closet. Don’t take the opportunity for granted. This organization is NOT JUST about earning scholarship money; it’s about making you a better person. That is the definition of community service, and Catherine’s Closet is here to do just that: serve the community. Thank you for taking part in our mission. Ali Longo Here are some of the ways you can help: Use these places to jump start your volunteering: Community Service Clubs Schools Churches Synagogues etc. Marketing Contacting T.V. and radio stations Distributing flyers to local businesses, schools, churches, etc. Put yourself out there! Make yourself known to all of your friends and family that you need help helping others! Ask the people closest to you to search through their closets and donate to a good cause. Come to the sorting and distribution days. Get HANDS ON!
